The Elmira Sugar Kings are pleased to announce the return of Nolan Shaw for the 2026-27 season. Nolan returns after recording 7 goals and 5 assists for 12 points last season, bringing a hardworking, team-first mentality every time he steps onto the ice. Entering the final season of his junior hockey career, Nolan is determined to help lead the Sugar Kings in their pursuit of a championship and leave a lasting legacy in Elmira. Head Coach Cory McRae is excited to have Nolan back for one more season. “Nolan is the type of player every coach wants on their team. He competes hard, puts the team first, and does whatever is asked of him. He’s committed to finishing his junior career the right way, and his goal of bringing a championship to the City of Elmira is one that our entire team shares. Ryan returns after recording 18 goals and 13 assists for 31 points last season, providing the Sugar Kings with a dependable offensive presence and veteran leadership. As he enters the final season of his junior hockey career, Ryan will continue to balance his commitment to the team while attending the University of Guelph. The Sugar Kings have added experience and size to their blue line with the addition of Cameron Martin from the Stouffville Spirit Jr. A program. A big left-shot defenceman, Cameron brings two full seasons of Junior A experience and will be attending the University of Guelph this fall while continuing his hockey career in Elmira. Known for his steady defensive play and physical presence, Cameron has developed into a reliable blueliner who competes hard in all three zones. His experience at the Junior A level, combined with his commitment to off-ice training and continual development, makes him a valuable addition to the Sugar Kings’ defensive corps. #elmirasugarkings #gohl #proudtobeaking

The Elmira Sugar Kings are pleased to announce the return of Brendan Gerber for the 2026-27 season. The third-year forward and 2025 Fan Favourite Award winner is coming off an outstanding campaign in which he recorded 32 goals and 35 assists for 67 points in 50 games, establishing himself as one of the premier offensive players in the GOHL. A native of New Hamburg, Brendan has become a key contributor both on and off the ice for the Sugar Kings. His offensive skill, work ethic, and leadership have made him an integral part of the organization’s success, and the club is excited to have him back as it looks to build another strong and competitive team for the upcoming season. Head Coach Cory McRae is thrilled to welcome Brendan back for another year. “Brendan is a dynamic offensive player who consistently makes an impact every time he steps on the ice,” said McRae. “More importantly, he is an outstanding young man whose passion for the game, commitment to his teammates, and positive attitude make him one of the most respected and well-liked players in our dressing room.
